AlarmRedux

Reduction of acoustic load for nursing staff on intensive care units

“AlarmRedux” is a project promoted by BMBF. The joint research project should contribute to the funding priority “care innovation to support informal and professional nurses”. The project started in march 2016 with a duration of three years.

The aim of the project “AlarmRedux” is an improvement of alarm management in intensive care. The development of methodological and technical concepts is intended to make the load on clinical staff by means of alarms measurable and to reduce it sustainably. In addition to improving the quality of the work environment “care” by the reduction of avoidable alarms, the project should contribute to prevent the nurses against dangerous desensitization for alarms and to increase the patient safety.

The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Ger. Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF). (Project number: 16SV7501)
